Per Passione is a newly formed vocal ensemble (summer 2007) that is primarily occupied with the repertoire of vocal music from around 1600. Much of this music was meant to be performed with just one singer to a part which allows for a much more flexible and intimate delivery of the music than what can be acheived within the context of a larger choir. For this reason Per Passione was created as a vocal ensemble rather than a choir. The ensemble is based in Aarhus, Denmark, and is directed by Erik K. Knudsen, who is also the founder of the ensemble.
